MDA provides free medical consultations by Medical Officers and offers a wide range of diagnostic services at highly affordable prices, while maintaining standard quality.
The Association provides
comprehensive outpatient management of patients with diabetes mellitus, as well as medical care for patients with various general medical conditions.
Its services include management of diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular diseases (stroke, heart disease and PVD), diabetic kidney disease, fatty liver, obesity, dyslipidaemia, diabetic neuropathy, diabetic foot problems, minor outpatient surgical procedures, dental problems, gynecological conditions, and other common health problems.
MDA places strong emphasis on patient counselling, health education, disease prevention, and lifestyle modification.
Patients receive practical guidance and training on:
*Proper insulin administration and injection techniques
*Self-monitoring of blood glucose (SMBG),
*Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) and dietary management,
*Appropriate physical exercise and lifestyle modification,
*Recognition and immediate management of hypoglycaemia,
*Regular follow-up (FU) and treatment monitoring,
*Referral (Ref) to appropriate higher-level healthcare facilities when required,
*Diabetes screening (DM screening) and diabetes-risk assessment.
